MESSAGE FROM THE WINNIPEG MINOR BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION:
The WMBA hopes you and your family are all doing well and staying safe. It's important for us all to work together to get through these unprecedented times.
I know many of you have been patiently waiting for an update on the 2020 Spring League. We have been closely monitoring the situation and waiting for updates on possible start updates for facility usage through both school boards and city facilities. Unfortunately at this time, there is no date in sight, which leaves us with the difficult decision of cancelling all Spring programming.
The WMBA understands that participants are facing a tough time right now, both socially and financially. The WMBA Executive Committee has been communicating weekly, and with the season cancellation, has decided to refund all participants minus the credit card transaction fees. The WMBA is 100% membership-driven with no base funding from the government and as a not-for-profit organization, the WMBA operating budget depends solely on our basketball community.

I would like to thank all of you for supporting the WMBA throughout the 2019-2020 season. I know many of you have been involved in our Fall/Winter League, the Jr NBA program, as well as our Spring League program. Your support means the world to us, thank you so much for being part of our organization this past season. As much as we’re extremely disappointed not to be able to offer our Spring League program, we will begin looking ahead to some potential Summer programming for the first time and of course the Fall/Winter 2020-2021 season.
