September 5th, 2020 was a special anniversary for basketball in our province. It has now been 25 years that Adam Wedlake has worked at Basketball Manitoba. Adam started working for Basketball Manitoba in 1992 as a summer student for 2 years and then as its Program Coordinator and Technical Director from 1995 to 1998. In 1997, he co-founded the Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association (WMBA) and then took over as Executive Director in June of 2006.
Adam’s work ethic has taken the provincial sport association to great heights. He one of the most respected executive directors in Canada. He has taken Basketball Manitoba into the 21 st century with his technical skills and creative thinking. Numerous new programs and initiatives are a result of his leadership.
All basketball people in the province are extremely fortunate to have Adam at the helm of our organization. We should all celebrate his outstanding career and the many accomplishments he has brought to the game we all love.
Congratulations, Adam – we all look forward to many more successful years.
