Head Coach, Joel Coursey, has announced his first signing of the 2021 campaign, Carly Harder from Winkler, Manitoba.

The 5' 8" forward comes to the Pilots with basketball experience from club team Junior Bisons and high school team Garden Valley Collegiate. For her basketball career, Carly comes to Providence with a long resume. Carly was awarded MVP in grade 10 and 11 for her varsity basketball team as well as qualified for 4A provincials the last three years in a row for GVC.

“I’m very thankful and excited about this opportunity and I’m looking forward to furthering my basketball career at Providence," says Carly. "My favorite verse is: I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13."

Carly comes to Providence to study Social Sciences. She enjoys horseback riding, basketball and working with her family on their cattle farm. In the summers she also enjoys volunteering at the Equine Assisted Learning Program.

Coach Coursey had this to say about his newest recruit, “I am happy to announce our first recruit of the 2021 season. Carly is a great basketball player who has put countless hours of work into developing her game. She comes from a successful program that has proven a winning culture, which is known for shooting the ball and running the court. Carly’s size and skill set, make her a difficult player to guard as she can stretch the floor and hold her own in the paint. She will be joining a former Winkler Zodiac, Abigail Matuszewski. Together they have excelled on the court, and we look forward to bringing their talents back together at Providence. We are excited to welcome Carly into our program, as we embark on a journey to another NIAC championship next season.”
