The Providence Men's Basketball team has announced that BC’s Bryden Alexander to their 2021 roster. The Fort St. James product has committed to studying Business Administration at Providence while playing basketball under head coach Pierre Dubreuil.
The 6’3” versatile guard will compete for his role within the deep Pilots roster, when they kick off training camp on September 3rd. “I've been talking with Bryden for a while now, and I'm thrilled that he is joining our 2021/22 roster”, says coach Dubreuil. “Bryden is a mature young man who brings good experience at the guard position. Like many of his teammates, he wants to impact his community positively. As we are getting ready for the season, I'm looking forward to seeing how Bryden is going to fit in our offensive and defensive strategy!”
The long-awaited return to play has only motivated the Pilots to improve on their 2019-20 campaign which ended with a tough early-round exit at the hands of Maranatha Baptist University. Coach Debreuil has been growing his program over the last year and recruits like Bryden go a long way in creating the needed depth to compete with teams like MBU. The experience and enthusiasm Bryden will bring to the Pilots will be valued by his coaches and peers.
“I'm thankful to the Providence community for giving me the opportunity to grow as a student, and an athlete. I look forward to being a part of a school and basketball team that is invested in me”, exclaims Alexander. “I can't wait to get involved within the community on and off the court. Overall, I'm excited and ready to be a Pilot. Go, Pilots!"
The Pilots will kick off their season with a pair of games against the Briercrest Clippers on October 1 & 2 on their new home court in Niverville, MB.
