VANCOUVER – Canada West announced Friday that it has adopted a proof of COVID-19 vaccination policy for the 2021-22 season.
The conference's Board of Directors voted unanimously to adopt the policy, which will go into effect immediately.
The policy will require all Canada West participants to have received a first dose of an approved Health Canada or World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 vaccine by September 9, 2021. A second dose must be received no later than October 17, 2021, in order to continue participation in university sport activity between Canada West member institutions including the Brandon Bobcats, Manitoba Bisons and Winnipeg Wesmen basketball teams.
