Factors on making the change included...
- Giving people travelling into Winnipeg as much notice as possible to change their plans and everyone the time to plan to attend next Saturday.
- Not knowing the condition or status of any roads (highway or city) or extended closures on Saturday as the duration and full impact of the storm is still unknown.
- Not knowing the status of the accessibility of the Sport Manitoba facility (or area parking) for Saturday which is currently closed for the duration of the storm.
- Not putting added pressure on people to feel they need to venture out during or even during the aftermath of the storm in a potentially unsafe driving environment.
The announcements of the Manitoba Players of the Year, All-Manitoba Teams, Coaches of the Year and other special or scholarship awards will now be made online throughout the day on Saturday, April 23.

Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce the details for the annual Basketball Manitoba Awards that are set for Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Sport Manitoba Courts (aka Sport for Life Centre) located at 145 Pacific Avenue in downtown Winnipeg. The event will feature players and coaches at the Manitoba high school basketball level from this past year who had outstanding seasons.
The day will feature the boys and girls A - AAA and AAAA Graduating All-Star Games. The same day will see the announcement of the Players of the Year, All-Manitoba Teams, Coaches of the Year, Carl Ridd, Jim Bulloch, Ron Meyers, Donovan Gayle, Morris Glimcher and Lena Wenke Awards and other special recognition awards. The announcements will be made throughout the day on Basketball Manitoba's social media platforms and website. A formal banquet that is normally hosted will not proceed this year as the decision not to host it in person was made back in January while significant health restrictions were still in place.

- HEALTH RESTRICTIONS: There are currently no mandated health restrictions in place to access the facility however,
Sport ManitobaWestgate Mennonite Collegiate is still recommending the wearing of masks while in its facility for all players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators. Players, coaches and officials are welcome to remove their masks while active on the court. - ADMISSION: There is no admission cost to attend the All-Star Games at
Sport ManitobaWestgate Mennonite Collegiate. Due to the configuration of the gyms, there will be limited spectator space available on the sidelines. - PARKING: Area parking options are available on the area streets (note the 2-hour time limit), in the school parking lot or in the Misericordia Hospital Parkade.

Sport ManitobaWestgate Mennonite Collegiate on its LiveBasketball.ca website. Each feed will go live just minutes before the game begins. IMPORTANT: Players selected for the Graduating All-Star Games are asked to be at Sport Manitoba no sooner than 30 minutes prior to their scheduled game and are asked to bring BOTH their light AND dark school jersey and shorts to the game. Changerooms are available on site and players are asked not to leave any personal items behind in the change rooms.
