The Providence Women's Basketball Team has announced the addition of Jackie Penner from Garden Valley Collegiate, for the upcoming season. Her competitiveness and hardworking demeaner paired with her length and athleticism provide a high ceiling of potential for her to reach with the Pilots. At 5’8”, Jackie is a tall guard allowing her the versatility to guard multiple positions. This 2 time Garden Valley Athlete of the Year, is eager to learn and grow while at Providence.
Penner plays multiple school sports but has chosen basketball as her passion. Outside the lines of the basketball court, she excels academically and enjoys volunteering at church functions including food drives and community cleanup. She hopes to become a physiotherapist and continue in the sporting world once her collegiate career is over.

“Jackie is our 4th signee of the off season, and we are excited to add her to our impressive returning class. Adding length and athleticism was a high priority of our offseason and we achieved that with Jackie. Our culture is very important to us and Jackie fits well with what we value. Her involvement in her church and community speaks volumes to her character. I believe she will thrive at Providence.” Joel Coursey
Jackie will enter the Health Science program under Professor Rebecca Dielschneider.
