The Providence Women's Basketball Team has announced the Emma Wiebe of Brandon MB, this fall when she joins the women’s basketball program. Wiebe joins the Pilots from Crocus Plains Collegiate in Brandon, where she played for coach Adam Hartman. Emma has been well-coached in her position and comes with refined post footwork. Known for her work ethic and athleticism, Emma has a high ceiling of potential that she looks to discover while at Providence.

Emma has a wide range of skills and interests, beyond basketball. She performs in theatre, music and other forms of art including digital design. She is known by her peers as the ultimate teammate who cares deeply about the team and her teammates. She works hard and has a positive attitude, making her a valuable addition to any team.

“I am extremely excited to be given this opportunity to play for the Pilots and I’m also very grateful to have been given a chance to grow and learn from those more experienced in this new environment, playing a sport I love with other girls who share that same passion!” Emma Wiebe

“Emma comes to us highly recommended by her high school coach as being a very strong athlete, who is extremely coachable. I am excited to welcome Emma to our program! We prioritized searching for longer interior players, with lots of athleticism, and we found exactly that with Emma. She runs the floor very well for her size, which is a hard asset to find. I am impressed with her touch and footwork around the rim. I think she will thrive given the opportunity she has to play here. Lastly, what I hear about her character and personality, she will fit right into our team and campus community. I look forward to beginning to work with her and integrate her into our system.” Joel Coursey

Emma will enter the Communications and Media program this fall.
