Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce details on the 2023 Manitoba Provincial Team Identification Camp for the upcoming summer. The Identification Camp will occur on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Vincent Massey High School for males (715 McDiarmid Dr. Brandon, MB) and Neelin High School for females (1020 Brandon Ave, Brandon, MB).

The Manitoba Provincial Team Program is the premier player and coach development program in the province. The program attracts the top players and coaches to represent Manitoba at national and international events. Ages 15U and 17U are offered to both male and female players and the program operates annually from May through August.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Brandon Identification Camps are not the formal tryouts for the Manitoba Provincial Team program, but an identification camp opportunity for athletes living anywhere in Manitoba. The ID Camps are being offered to provide athletes additional consideration from the Provincial Team Coaches who will be present in Brandon for the day. The formal Manitoba Provincial Team Tryouts will occur on May 12-14, 2023, at the Sport Manitoba Courts in Winnipeg. The May Tryouts are still open to any Manitoba resident to attend who meets the defined ages. The Provincial Team Tryout details will be announced in early spring.
The 2023 Manitoba Provincial Team Program will be forming a total of 4 teams that will represent Manitoba at these national championships. The ages for the teams will be 17U (born in 2006 or later) and 15U (born in 2008 or later) at both the male and female levels. The Canada Basketball 15U & 17U National Championships will run July 31-August 5, 2023 and feature teams representing each of the ten provinces across Canada. The 15U and 17U boys' competitions will be held in Sherbrooke, QC, while the 15U and 17U girls' tournaments will be hosted in Calgary, AB.
The teams will be selected from the open tryouts in May, and any Manitoba resident who is in one of the defined age categories is eligible and welcome to try out. Once the teams are chosen, the female teams will train and compete together through June and July and participate in their respective National Championship.

- REGISTRATION: Online preregistration is required (links below)
- CHECK-IN: Onsite check-in will begin 20 minutes prior to the first tryout per age category. Players should come dressed ready to play.
- BRING A BASKETBALL: Basketballs are asked to bring their own basketball (Girls size 6, Boys size 7)
- PROGRAM FEES: Roster players making one of the Provincial Teams after the May 12-14 tryouts will be assessed the $500.00 program fee that covers transportation and hotel for flight and full accommodations to the National Championships. The program fee also includes gear packages, training costs, and insurance. Basketball Manitoba subsidizes 75% of the total summer program cost, leaving a balance of $500.00 per athlete. Additional funding, financial support programs, and payment options are available.
