WINNIPEG – The Canadian Elite Basketball League’s newest member have added more CEBL experienced talent to their roster.
Toronto native, Michael Okafor is set to join the Sea Bears organization for its inaugural season.
Okafor joins the team for this second professional season after a stint with the Hamilton Honey Badgers in 2022. The defending CEBL champion played a major role with the team as he appeared in 15 games and averaged 17.5 minutes and 5.5 points.
The 6’9’’ forward wrapped up his college career in February playing with Lakehead University where he earned a second team all-star. Okafor averaged 16.3 points, finished 14th overall in OUA scoring and lead his team to a 16-6 conference record.

A league created by Canadians for Canadians with a mission to develop Canadian players, coaches, sports executives, and referees, the CEBL boasts the highest percentage of Canadian players of any pro league in the country with 71 percent of its 2022 rosters being Canadian.
