As we approach the playoffs for the 2022-23 season, we would like to remind everyone involved in the Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association of the expected behavior for a positive and respectful experience for all.
Players:
- Play fair and with good sportsmanship at all times.
- Respect your opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators.
- Follow the rules and regulations of the game.
- Keep your emotions in check and avoid any unsportsmanlike conduct.
Coaches:
- Set a positive example for your players by demonstrating good sportsmanship and respect for the opposing team, officials, and spectators.
- Encourage your players to play fairly and with good sportsmanship.
- Respect the decisions of the officials, even if you disagree with them.
- Ensure that your team and spectators are familiar with the rules and regulations of the game.
Officials:
- Be fair, impartial, and consistent in your decisions.
- Maintain control of the game by enforcing the rules and regulations.
- Respect the players, coaches, and spectators, and expect the same in return.
- Do not tolerate any unsportsmanlike conduct from any player, coach, or spectator.
Spectators:
- Respect the players, coaches, and officials at all times.
- Do not engage in any unsportsmanlike conduct, such as taunting or heckling.
- Keep all comments positive and supportive of both teams.
- Follow the rules and regulations of the facility.
We hope that everyone involved in the playoffs for the 2022-23 season will uphold these expectations to create a positive and respectful environment for all. Let's have a great playoff season!
