Acosta Moliné most recently played for Lennoxville Prep in Quebec where he averaged 18 points per game and 13 rebounds per game
After a record-setting 2022-23 campaign, Bisons head coach Kirby Schepp has added to a young, talented core with the addition of 6'8", 211-pound Tenerife, Spain native David Acosta Moliné. This is the first time during Schepp's tenure that a Spaniard will be donning the Bisons colours.
The forward most recently played for Lennoxville Prep in Quebec, where he averaged a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards per game, along with three blocks per game. He was also named an NPUBA Prep League All-Star.
"A fantastic rebounder and inside scorer, David will be a big addition to the future of the Bisons program," Schepp said. "He has been very well coached at both his Spanish Club and at Lennoxville Prep. We are very excited to add David to our outstanding core of young talent."
Prior to Lennoxville, Acosta Moliné played for CB Canarias in Tenerife, as well as the Spanish EBA League.
"I'm very excited to begin this new chapter of my basketball career here at University of Manitoba," he said.
"All the facilities, the really nice program and the family environment between the teammates and the coaches made the University of Manitoba the best choice for me. I want to thank my family, my friends and my coaches back in Spain for always supporting me on my decisions. Also I want to thank Diego and my coaches at Lennoxville prep for giving me the opportunity coming to Canada to follow my dream. Lastly, thank to coach Kirby for this opportunity and for trusting me. I'm very excited and motivated. See you soon Bisons!"
