REGISTER NOW! Canada Basketball, in partnership with Basketball Manitoba, has announced details on an NCCP Train to Train Basketball Coaching Workshop that will be hosted June 2-4, 2023, at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate, 2665 Ness Ave, Winnipeg, MB.
The cost to attend the clinic is $325.00. The deadline to register is Wednesday, May 31, 2023. This Train to Train course is targeted at coaches working with players ages 12-16. It has replaced the old NCCP Level 2 coursework. In order to attend this course, you must have completed the NCCP Learn to Train course already.

Learning Facilitator: Stephen Tackie has been involved with the Manitoba Provincial Team program both as a head and an assistant coach at a variety of levels since 1998. Stephen led Team Manitoba’s 17U boy's program to two consecutive Silver Medal performances at the Canadian National Championships in 2012 and the 2013 Canada Games held in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Currently, he is the head coach of the Varsity Boys program at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate, where he has also worked as an educator since 2002. Tackie has led Sturgeon Heights to the AAAA Final Four Provincial Championship 5 times (JV and Varsity), including a Junior Varsity boy's provincial Championship in 2009. In 2008 and 2009, Tackie was voted back-to-back Junior Varsity Boy's coach of the year, and in 2010 was a finalist for the Sports Manitoba Coach of the Year award.
Stephen is currently a coach in the Canada Basketball/Manitoba Region Boys Jr. Academy. In 2005, he began working as an assistant with the Wesmen Men's basketball program. He has coached in Manitoba's male Centre for Performance Program for four years and is an Instructor for Canada basketball's NCCP Course Intro to Competition Advanced Coaches certification course.
Steve is very active in the summer basketball camp circuit with involvement with the Wesmen Camps, Peace Gardens, Athletes in Action, Rocky Mountain in Alberta and the Boston Celtics summer camp in Boston, Mass. Coach Tackie has been part of the Point Guard College (PGC) organization, instructing at camps in Atlanta, Texas and UCLA.

- To register for an NCCP clinic, you must log in to your Game Plan (gameplanbasketball.ca) account. **Please note: if you do not have a Game Plan account, you can create an account at the following link (gameplanbasketball.ca/register.php)
- From there, you can select the "Workshops" tab from the top toolbar.
- Once you are on the workshops page, ensure you set the Province to Manitoba to see available workshops.
- You will then be able to click on the "Register" button attached to the appropriate clinic.
