The Bisons men's basketball program has secured the commitment of the province's top graduating senior, in 6'6" guard Taven Vigilance.

An Oak Park product, Vigilance was a 4A Manitoba Provincials All-Star and was also named to the 4A All-Manitoba Team.

As a team, Oak Park advanced to the MHSAA 4A provincial final against Vincent Massey, with Vigilance averaging 32 points throughout the tournament.

A multiple-time member of Manitoba's provincial team, Vigilance has also played for Attack Academy and Legacy Prep, and is a four-year honour roll student. He has a family connection to the program, as his dad Clarence is a Bisons alum.

"Taven was our number one recruiting target this year, the top prospect in Manitoba and we are very excited to have him join the Herd," said Bisons head coach Kirby Schepp.

"He is a tremendous talent that can play and defend multiple positions. We believe Taven can make an impact right away while also being a cornerstone player for the future of the program. Taven has be benefited from exceptional coaching in Cam McNeil at Oak Park, Marlin Kraus (Legacy Prep) and Suk Singh (Attack). He will use this foundation as a spring board to a great career at Manitoba."

"I am extremely grateful to be able to continue my basketball career in my hometown as a Bison," added Vigilance. "I want to thank everyone who has guided and supported me throughout my journey, as well as the men's basketball coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity. I can't wait to get started!
