Providence Pilots Women’s Basketball has announced the signing of Colby Darragh, a shooting guard from Grosse Isle, Manitoba, and a standout at Warren Collegiate, as the team’s second recruit for the 2025-26 season.

Darragh expressed her excitement about the opportunity, stating, “I am very excited to be signing with Providence and to have this opportunity to play basketball at the next level. I look forward to putting on the Pilots jersey and continuing to play the sport I love. I would like to thank all my teammates and coaches who have pushed me to be the player I am and look forward to working hard to keep improving as a basketball player. I am so thankful for this opportunity!”

Colby’s father and coach, Jason Darragh, commended her dedication to her craft: “Colby is the kind of player coaches love to coach. She works as hard off the court as she does on the court. She never missed an opportunity to work on her game, whether it was going to school early to work on her shot or staying later after practice to make just one more three. She is a leader on and off the court and is always willing to do whatever is needed to help her team and teammates be successful.”

Pilots Head Coach Joel Coursey shared his enthusiasm for Colby’s future with the team: “I got to see Colby earlier this year for the first time when she played against us in an exhibition game with Evolve. I was impressed with her athleticism and tenacity. Colby is a talented player with a strong motor. She can shoot the ball and defend the length of the court. She fits right into our style of play! I think Colby is going to have an exciting career as a Pilot. Welcome to the Pilots family!”

The Providence Pilots, the reigning NIAC and MCAC champions, are excited to welcome Colby Darragh to their roster as they look to build on their recent success. With her work ethic, leadership, and skills, Colby is expected to make an immediate impact on and off the court.
