Elevate Sports Group, in collaboration with Basketball Manitoba, the Manitoba Basketball African Association (MBAA), and MiniBallers, has announced a new free and open to all "Black History Month Charity Basketball Youth Camp" that will take place on February 15 at the Duckworth Centre, located at 400 Spence Street, from 1:15 PM to 3:15 PM.
Open to youth aged 10–16, the camp will provide an engaging opportunity for participants to develop basketball skills under expert guidance while learning about the importance of Black history and culture in sport. Limited spots are available, and registration inquiries can be sent to info@elevatesportsgroup.co.
The camp extends its thanks to the University of Winnipeg for access to the Duckworth Centre in support of this initiative! In addition to the basketball camp, the initiative is part of a broader effort to raise funds for mental health services at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). Supporters can contribute to this important cause by purchasing a specially designed basketball-themed shirt through Elevate Sports Group’s online store at https://elevatesportsgroup.myshopify.com/.
“The Black History Month Charity Basketball Youth Camp is an excellent way to bring the community together, celebrate diversity, and support mental health initiatives,” said Elevate Sports Group. “The funds raised will go a long way in supporting mental health services, aligning with our mission to create meaningful impact both on and off the court.”
Participants and community members are encouraged to get involved, whether by attending the camp, purchasing a shirt, or sharing the event details with others.
