The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association (WMBA) has announced that registration for the 2025 WMBA Spring Season is officially open. Running from April 12/13, 2025, to June 14/15, 2025, the spring session offers a variety of programs tailored for players of all skill levels, including:
- WMBA Community League – A fun and competitive league for boys and girls basketball players ages 7-17.
- Jr. NBA League – An introductory league for younger athletes focusing on skill development and game fundamentals for boys and girls ages 12U and 14U.
- Jr. NBA Skills Development (Group Lessons) – Structured group training sessions designed to improve fundamental basketball skills for boys and girls ages 5-12.
Celebrating 27 years of excellence, WMBA continues to provide an inclusive and affordable basketball experience for Winnipeg’s youth. With equal playing time, fair play rules, and a strong emphasis on development and teamwork, WMBA remains the city’s premier youth basketball league.

WMBA Community League
The WMBA Community Centre League is a city-wide league where teams compete against other teams from different areas in the city. Players register online for their catchment community centre and teams are formed based on those Community Centre catchment areas. The WMBA adheres to a fair play and zero tolerance model to ensure young athletes are competing in a Fun and Safe environment.

About the Program:
- Designed for boys and girls 14U and 12U.
- Supplementary gameplay and training for club players and community league players looking to take the next level.

- Incorporates all the traditions of our community leagues including fair and equal play requirements and number of games and 1 practice every other week.
- Opportunity to represent NBA & WNBA teams
- League games will be on Friday, Saturday or Sunday (non-conflict with WMBA Community Games according to age group)

Jr NBA Skills Development
- Age 5-12 | Co-ed | 10 Weeks | 1 Hour Sessions
- Positively impact youth through the sport of basketball
- A holistic approach to athlete development based on the Sport Canada LTAD Model
Objectives:
- Participation - Provide opportunities for youth ages 5-12 across Canada to learn basketball.
- Education - NCCP FUNdamentals Coach Workshop and full basketball curriculum with supporting resources.
- Development - Develop young athletes in alignment with the Sport Canada LTAD Model and age-appropriate drills and games.
- Character Building - Help athletes maximize their potential, using basketball as a vehicle to develop character and life skills.
Playing Schedule:
- 7-13 Boys - Saturdays
- 7-12 Girls - Saturdays
- 14-18 Boys - Sundays
- 13-18 Girls - Sundays
