The University of Manitoba Bisons Men’s Basketball program has announced the commitment of Ethan Wiebe, a standout centre/forward from Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler, Manitoba.
Wiebe, a dominant force in the high school ranks, was recently named the AAA Male Player of the Year after averaging an impressive 24 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 blocks per game. Standing 6’9” and weighing 248 pounds, he brings an elite combination of size, skill, and athleticism to the Bisons’ frontcourt.
“After a dominant high school career at Garden Valley, we are excited to add the top 2025 big man in Manitoba,” said Bisons head coach Kirby Schepp. “We are confident Ethan will be a great addition to our program. He combines great size and skill that will make him a big part of our program. His ability to rebound, score inside and stretch the floor with his shooting are an ideal fit for our team.”
Wiebe’s commitment is a major addition to the Bisons as they continue to strengthen their roster with top Manitoba talent.
